FF #9 - disappointing characters

Feature & Follow is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read weekly. You can join me and post the links to your own #FF posts in the comments below.
The question this week is...
Q: Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then “broke up” with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.
I think not many of you will agree with me but...

Gale from The Hunger Games
At first, I liked him more than Peeta. He understood Katniss, he was the one always by her side. I didn't exactly cheer on his romance with Katniss, but I wasn't really against it. But then the third book happened and he started to act... strangely, to put it mildly. I was a little disappointed in him.

That was a seriously hard question! It took me a while. I usually love or hate a character immediately and stick with it to the end, it rarely happens that I change my mind about him or her. :)

What is your answer to this question? Link me your FF/answer in the comments, so I can peek.

  3. Thank you for dropping by Book that Thing. Happy Friday to you as well. I'm following back :-)
I haven't read The Hunger Games, so I can't really agree or disagree w/ you, but I will tell you that I HATE a character that starts acting "strangely" without any reason being given at all (as in not even explained by the end of the book or series).
    That really annoys me lol.
Yup, you should give the Elemental Assassin series a shot. I LOVE it! The character I was disappointed in was not a main character, so no worries.

  11. I liked Gale but I always loved Peeta more. To me, Gale just kinda fell of a cliff at the end of Mockingjay. I wasn't satisfied with the way Suzanne Collins ended the story with him... oh well..
Thanks for stopping by and for the follow!

  12. Thank you for swinging by and following me at Blethering About Book :)

I have only read the first Hunger Games book - I couldn't take to the 2nd book at all. But I hate it when characters go weird like that. I'll have to push through with the books to see what happen with him now :)

  14. Thanks for stopping by my blog & following! I'm returning the favor! :)

You're right about Gale being weird in Mockingjay. But we had not been given a huge amount of info about his character up to that point to know if that was just a natural progression of who he was. I was never a fan of his so it only bothered me that Katniss wasn't sure if she had feelings for him or not because I so wouldn't have! :D

Rzeczywiście te Igrzyska śmierci takie dobre? Wszędzie je widzę, wygrałam ebooka i nie wiem nawet czy warto się zabierać czy to taka sława na poziomie Zmierzchu... ><
